Full course description

When school is out and parents are still at work, children need a safe place to be with their friends, that offers structured activities, supportive adults, and good nutrition. After school programs that participate in Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) give children and teenagers the nutrition they need, and draw them into constructive activities that are safe, fun, and filled with opportunities for learning. Through the At-Risk Afterschool Meals component of CACFP, healthy meals and snacks can be served to children and teenagers who participate in afterschool programs in low-income areas. The Child and Adult Care Food Program is a federally funded, state-administered program that provides funding to those organizations. This training is going to provide the learner with an insight into the requirements for the administration of the At-Risk Afterschool Meals Program and the purchasing of products to be federally reimbursed.
