Full course description
This self-paced course equips K-6 educators with the knowledge and skills to effectively integrate computer science into their elementary curriculum. Designed to meet Oklahoma's computer science education requirements, this course demystifies computer science concepts and provides practical strategies for authentic integration across content areas.
Participants will explore the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Computer Science, distinguish between computer science and educational technology, and learn how to develop grade-appropriate integrated lessons. Through engaging activities and real classroom examples, teachers will learn to incorporate computational thinking skills—such as algorithms, pattern recognition, decomposition, and abstraction—into their existing ELA, math, science, and social studies instruction.
